The town of Volterra and the Archaeological Group Velathri, organize a free and open to Archaeology course at all. The purpose of the course are to introduce the knowledge of Archaeology in general and that of the Heritage of Volterra, in particular, specific attention will focus on the identification and reporting of the new sites and preliminary excavation of the area. Rapporteur Dr. Alessandro Furiesi Director of the Pinacoteca Civica.
The start is scheduled for the second half of January 2011 on a weekly basis: the estimated time of start of classes is around 17.30.
The first three lectures will be introductory and will focus on the history of Archaeology, the methods of archaeological research, what is an archaeological dig and so on. etc..
During the first period application, after hearing the opinion of the participants, will be decided on the final plan of meetings.
The course also includes the involvement of archaeologists in charge of important excavations in Tuscany.
At the end of the course is scheduled for delivery of a certificate of participation.
